Many different fitness programs implements will be used for practice. Practices sometimes include medicine balls of various weights and sizes for weight training, plyometrics using mini-hurdles, stairs, or steps, and dynamic stretching. Latex tubes with attached handles of various resistances will be used to simulate the throwing motion. Throwing equipment will include implements of various weights, along with weighted balls. Lengths of metal pipe or bowling pins may be used as well for throwing technique. Unless the athlete brings their own equipment for practice, Coach Kajtsa will provide them.
Starting Tuesday June 4th, 2019 and ending Thursday, July 11th, Impact Throwing Academy, in conjunction with Hammerman USA, will be conducting it's Summer Training Program to be held at Hammerman Field in Aurora, IL. The program will consist of ten practices over 5 weeks, either focusing on one throwing event, or the practices may be split between 2 throwing events.
The weekly summer schedule is as follows:
Tuesdays: Javelin and Hammer: 4:30pm to 5:30pm, Shot Put 6:00 to 7:00pm
Wednesdays: Discus 6:00pm to 7:15pm.
Thursdays: Javelin and Hammer 3:30pm to 4:30pm, Shot Put 5:00pm to 6:00pm, Discus 6:00pm to 7:15pm.
The fee for the program is $400 for the 10 practices.
